Heikes Read this as part of the compilation and was very glad I'd picked up all three. Knew this was a serial approach going in, so the short nature of the offering wasn't a problem. In fact, it really served to focus the story and keep it moving right along - no wandering around with extraneous details, just a direct and to the point story, well formed and well told.This installment expands on the details uncovered at the end of the first episode and introduces you to a cast of new characters while moving the overall plot line along. I'm not saying it's filler - it's a good story of its own right, but having read all three together, this one was 'world building' that really made the other two pop. The ending would have riled me some if I hadn't had story 3 on hand to start reading right away - so I'll suggest you do the same.

He has written some of the best indie books I have read By Matthew Posner I am reading my way through this series by Bernard Schaffer, an author of whom I am a big fan. He has written some of the best indie books I have read. This is part two of a space opera serial comparable to Heinlein or Roddenberry which should please fans of both. The story introduces a lot of new characters and ends with a cliffhanger. Well-done. I need to read part three now!
