By Jade Bertaud After following Jeff and Shaleia's work online for some time, I was really excited to read their book. And it did not disappoint. It is an accurate reflection of their unified energy - it is concise, intimate, clear, encouraging, full of love and rich with information.This is a book to be experienced. Coming into contact with its material is being immediately uplifted into the frequency of true love and divine truth, into the vibration of twin flame union! It's a very exciting book for that reason. I also love that Jeff and Shaleia get personal and generous with their own inspirational story.The mirror exercise included in the book is ultra powerful. Upon using it for the first time, it sent me into a really deep journey. I was led into a breakthrough that changed everything for me and I've been enjoying integrating all of the new energies and parts of myself it's brought forth into my life. I came on the other side of an issue I'd been actively dealing with for about 9 months (without counting the endless years of repetitive patterns prior!).This book will bring you to smile, relax, feel your heart open, your mind clear, and your spirit motivated! It is a refreshing look on the whole concept of Twin Flames and for a skeptic like me, it was easy to digest. I love the balance between the sharing of their own journey as Twin Flames and real practical guidance on how the rest of us can get to the point of reunion.For their next book, I want to read tons and tons of stories of reunions because some of us need to keep the faith alive. I believe they are both truly gifted and here to serve as guides for the rest of us that are muddling through this strange, wondrous experience.

By vesna perkovic I have read everything and anything pertaining to the Twin Flame reunion BUT I have NEVER come across a book as valuable as this one! The authors obviously KNOW what they're writing about ( experience is the best source of genuine information and know-how ) This marvelous reunited Twin Flame couple have presented THEIR story in a refreshing, sweet and gentle manner propelling the reader into a world most haven't a clue exists! They have prepared the way..all we need to do is make use of the information and thus do our own thing..get into the act and attract the Beloved into physical form after the inner work has been accomplished...hmmmm..not easy? It is IF you follow the instructions in this gem of a book ...yaaaay!Needless to say, there has been much mumbo-jumbo written about this subject and many books out there are better lost than found..lol! About the Author KATE MCCORD worked in Afghanistan for nine years after the fall of the Taliban. During her years in country, she worked as a humanitarian aid worker, delivering projects to benefit the people of Afghanistan. She also learned the local language and developed deep and lasting friendships with local Afghans. After evacuating from her home in Afghanistan, Ms. McCord transitioned into a mentoring, training, consulting and coaching role to other workers serving in the region. She is a 21st century missionary who walked the walk in Afghanistan and lived to proclaim with ebullience the joy and sorrow of that experience. Kate knows the heart of God and is able to bring the reader into that heart and to taste her rich relationship with Jesus.I believe she survived to tell this incredible story and motivate us to trust God's call when we may not believe we can. This book would make a thought provoking discussion book for any organization wanting to understand how and why to give support to foreign aid workers. I highly recommend it. She will challenge you and inspire you to play your own part in being called to dangerous places.

By Chris I was so blessed to be at the book signing of Kate McCords new book, "Why God Calls Us Into Dangerous Places". The book is so compelling and draws you right in through Kate's own experiences in Afghanistan and Biblical truths. It is a book that one can apply to your life if going into the mission field or in our own Christian walk wherever we live, walking where God calls us to be Jesus with flesh on in a hurting world. Get this book and use in your book clubs in bible studies at your churches. Kate is the real deal, she talks the talk, and walks the walk in honesty and truth.

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Solid, biblical basis for doing hard work in hard places By Lisa Werner This is an important book for individuals and for the Church today. As one who also personally went to live and work in a 'dangerous place', I appreciate Kate's methodical and biblical argument for supporting this kind of work. Anyone sensing God's call to work in hard and difficult contexts, both internationally as well as domestically should read this to help clarify their own reasons for going. The broader, secular culture of the West does not have the means to understand such a calling and work, so this book helps lay a solid groundwork for the biblical basis of such work. The Church should more easily understand the calling but in the midst of a culture that values comfort and safety, even the Church often has trouble getting behind those who sense God leading them to dangerous places. This book is also for the Church whose role in sending and supporting workers to difficult places is so very important. Lastly, this book is for the many family and friends who tearfully send their loved ones to dangerous places, those who symbolically 'hold their breath' with fear and anxiety as they watch kids, grandkids, and other loved ones get on planes that will carry them away to lands and culture unknown and not well understood. This book is a comfort and an encouraging word to help those individuals let their loved ones go to the people and places to which the Father has called them and to realize their own role in supporting them.

Nothing ever changes By Bob I received this book free to review.This I suppose comes into my gentle murder category in the sense there is little graphic violence.Set in the 1960s this captures the feel of the times and the old boy network that surrounded the government and secret services at the time and for all I know still does. The author has obviously done much research into the planes. Cars and trains of the period and I was very impress until one of the characters was said to have been driving an “MG sprite” (This would never have been said, there were MG Midgets and Austin Healey Sprites) I know it is a silly thing but from that point on I was looking for mistakes I did not find any more but it did change my focus on the book.Anyway, the story proper starts with Alex Swann being engaged to find out if a Miss Townsley’s fiancé had been murdered. With this fairly slow start the story expands into one with much wider implications with government departments and the secret service from both the UK and the USA being involved.I liked how all the characters were portrayed and the locations were vividly described and made all the more real by the supporting background an example is the change of trains at Crewe.As the story expands the pace increases with a number of twists and turns drawing me into it and eventually the mysteries were solved. Not the most satisfactory ending from the point of the characters but very plausible.It does seem to prove that while time moves on the actions of governments of whatever complexion never seem to change.A very engaging story if a bit slow to get going and well worth a read.

The Price of Justice is a continuing chapter of Tymiran and Flaxon, two protagonists introduced earlier in this series. The Price of Justice is book #6 in the Bounty Hunter series and takes us through adventure, from doing justice to victims of a society gone wrong to exciting hunts deep in the forests of the northern provinces of Arkia, told in A.M. Helmuth’s unique style.Both Tymiran and Flaxon share the duties of the book’s main characters, their viewpoints switching inside the chapters, thus giving the reader insights to their actions and reactions. Some scholars may call this head hopping and say it’s wrong, but the only wrong thing I see are those who say it’s wrong. Every writer is an artist of storytelling, and a creative artist breaks the rules of convention. And that’s why I enjoy Helmuth’s storytelling. I may not agree with some of the subject matter she uses, but I like when she is descriptive during her hunting scenes, taking the readers into the forests and making them not only see the woods, but also breathe and taste the air as well.Though I reserve 5-star ratings for those weird sci fi/fantasy books and baseball action stories that take me deep into the pages, Helmuth gets two thumbs up from me for a good book. If you like this series, then you’ll like this book.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. I recommend this book to anyone By Tyler Cochrane This journey, in the world that A.M. Helmuth created, follows two protagonists, Flaxon and Tymiran. In the sixth book of the series, these two characters grow further than what we were introduced to in Sacrifice. We see the relationship of master and apprentice grow as they went through their hunts and restoring justice to those that need it. A.M. Helmuth writes each character's perspective, allowing the reader to view the development mentally as well. With an interesting twist in the series, I recommend this book to anyone.

By Bruce If I were to give a one word review it would be "Flax". Okay so I guess that is not a very good review but I want to make sure the author knows my favorite character is. As always the story is well written and hard to put down once you get started. If you are seeking a story with well written characters, lots of action and a friendship that knows no bounds then this story is the one for you.

Catholic liturgy is far more than its texts. It is a synthesis that also includes several other elements—gesture, music, art, and architecture—which are aspects of the non-verbal language of the sacred and are what make the liturgy beautiful.

Father Lang's consideration of the beauty of the liturgy addresses the modern notion that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, that the experience of beauty is entirely subjective. This idea makes it difficult to articulate criteria for what is beautiful, yet sacred liturgy does indeed have objective measures for evaluating its principal elements. Reflecting upon these and quoting from authoritative Church documents, Father Lang discusses sacred music, art, and architecture, and demonstrates how the beauty of these elements makes present the sacred.

About the Author

Uwe Michael Lang has an M.A. in theology from the University of Vienna and a Ph.D. in theology from the University of Oxford. A priest of the Oratory of Saint Philip Neri in London, he is currently Lecturer in Theology at Heythrop College, University of London, and on the Visiting Faculty at the Liturgical Institute in Mundelein, Ill. Among his publications are Turning Towards the Lord and The Voice of the Church at Prayer, both published by Ignatius Press.

Highly academic, perfect for those wanting to understand the liturgy in the modern world By Shaun McAfee Signs of the Holy One is a superior book for many reasons.This is an excellent read for those studying liturgy and want a more academic understanding of the liturgy in its many forms. the book begins with Uwe unraveling the difference between sacred (it's antithesis, the profane) and ritual. Uwe cites the greatest Catholic thinkers of the 20th century including Piper, Ratzinger, and Rahner to provide insight into the proper understanding of sacred and ritual. This becomes the bread and butter for the rest of the book.From there, Uwe explores the liturgy to be found in the various parts of our modern world from contemporary Catholic theology (where he heavily leans on the great Ratzinger), the mass media (where he literally discussed the television of the Holy Mass), sacred art, and architecture. I really loved how Uwe explored each of these subjects with care for preservation of holiness of the Church.This book is a very academic read. I would not call it a contemporary read, or evangelistic. The book is perfectly fit for an individual or curriculum based study on the sacred and ritual liturgy in its various places and uses.

14 of 14 people found the following review helpful. This book has made a Jack London fan out of me. By R. Beach This is a fascinating, fast-paced story about Man just before he became Man. I loved being taken back to our origins by the totally plausible "time-machine" of genetic memory as presented by Jack London. The story literally shows us the stuff our dreams and we ourselves are made of. This is the first Jack London I've ever read and I'm looking forward to more. I somehow missed having to read Call of the Wild in my school days. I find the style crisp and concrete, and the "far out" premise of the story very believable. I would recommend this to any thoughtful junior high school student and to all adults.

12 of 12 people found the following review helpful. Very unusual, very interesting By Tom Bruce I have never read a book quite like Jack London's "Before Adam." It would be interesting to learn what his target audience for this book was -- young teens, high school students, adults? In it, London sets the premise for the reason of common dreams we all have, such as the dream of falling through space. He attests that it comes from our pre-man existence when we lived and slept in trees and falling meant almost sure death. He takes this theory a giant step forward through the narrator of the book who claims he has pre-historic dreams in which he sees himself as a pre-historic tree and cave dweller named Big Tooth. He creates a fascinating world for Big Tooth to inhabit, and delves into early evolution and survival of the fittest. There are a few holes in his logic, but mostly the story holds together well with several exciting chase sequences. The world of Big Tooth is horrifying, and I think for young teens who are susceptible, it could induce additional nightmares beyond falling. There are dramatic scenes of killing, torture, wife beating, and mass exterminations which are quite explicit. I'm glad I read it, for the book has given me much to think about.

Survival By Greg Hughes I only started reading Jack London's work three years ago, but I've had an interest in prehistoric times and evolution since I was ten. When I tried explaining to other children that humans and apes may have evolved from a common ancestor they just sort of sneered in disbelief. This was over a hundred years after Charles Darwin had died.Jack London's first SF novel "Before Adam" is an imaginitive, compelling read. Through his dreams, a twentieth century man "remembers" events from another time and place - a life lived at the dawn of time. The narrator "Big-Tooth" shows us the harsh brutality of prehistoric life, the endless struggle to survive, the constant danger posed by predators looking for food, and the menace of the "Fire Men" - a race more advanced than the species Big-Tooth belongs to, a race that have learned to use fire and kill prey with bows and arrows. It's very rare for anyone to live beyond middle age. Most people die violent deaths, either at the hands of a rival, or satisfying the hunger of a beast.This is not the first story with a prehistoric setting (Jack London was apparently accused of plagiarism by another author, Stanley Waterloo), but it's a wonderful book nevertheless. London later wrote a book with a similar premise called "The Star Rover", in which a condemned prisoner puts himself into a trance and experiences his past lives. It's possible that J.G. Ballard had also read "Before Adam" before writing "The Drowned World", another book about race memory and the retreat into prehistory. There's a lot of psychology in it.As a species we've certainly come a long way, or so we like to think. The slaughter initiated by the Fire Men looking for living space has been repeated time and time again. Our "intelligence" has enabled us to come up with more ingenious ways to kill each other, moving from bows and arrows to guns to weapons of mass destruction. From what can be seen on television or read in newspapers, it seems we're still a long way from "growing up". Jack London's novel should teach us not to be complacent.

About the Author

Bobby Conway is lead pastor of Life Fellowship Church near Charlotte, NC. He is a graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary (ThM), Southern Evangelical Seminary (DMin), and is a PhD candidate at the University of Birmingham, England. The book’s primary target audience is the “Christian threatened by doubts” (Page 22). It also includes the skeptic searching to find reasons for belief. Doubting Toward Faith is biblically well-grounded and addresses a culturally relevant topic.Conway wrote, “As the Christian philosopher Blaise Pascal said, ‘there is enough light for those who want to believe and enough shadows to blind those who don’t.’ The choice is yours. You can doubt toward unbelief or you can doubt toward faith. The reason we have a doubt crisis today is because there is a faith crisis. You’re about to learn the life skill of navigating your doubts toward faith without having to sacrifice your intellect or reason, and in the process, you just might discover the Truth” (Page 25).Throughout the book, Conway includes fascinating stories, quotations, questions, and practical application expounding various facets of doubt and how it affects people. The author also provides a course of action that turns one’s doubt toward solid convictions and a sound belief.One-story, for example, stands out to illustrate the different paths doubt can lead a person. On pages 196-198, Conway talks about a tale of two doubters. It's the story of two highly gifted evangelists, who became friends and contributed significantly to proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ. Each experienced a personal crisis of belief. Both were tangled up with doubt. When all was said and done, one doubted toward unbelief while the other doubted toward faith. 3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Doubters welcome! By Danielle Euker No question that the modern age in which we find ourselves can make spiritual life a minefield. It can be difficult to maintain a confident faith given the volume and rate of mis-information coming at us, the scientific advances attempting to explain away the need for God, and the head on collision that is happening with Christian moral values and secular society. The good news is the advice and strategies found in this book, Doubting Toward Faith, couldn't come at a better time. The honest truth is everyone has doubts in life, but for the Christian it's what we do with our doubts that will either make us or break us. As Bobby writes, doubt is not stationary and is on the move so the outcome can either be doubting toward faith or doubting toward unbelief. In other words, doubts can either work for our good and strengthen and deepen our dependence on God or conversely leave us wallowing in a place of confusion and hopelessness if left unanswered.If you have ever experienced doubt before (and we all have) you'll feel a personal connection with Bobby as he takes you on a journey through his life experience in dealing with doubt and remaining victorious. He also illuminates scriptures and demonstrates how some of the heros and most unlikely central figures in the Bible had moments of doubting. The bottom line, as Bobby points out, is Jesus can handle our doubts and is not threatened by them. He can bring sanctification to the process of doubting and we can end up with a stronger and more vibrant faith on the other side. Too often in church circles doubters can be seen as threatening to leadership and/or doubters are marginalized or ostracized even by fellow believers for having a weak and less virtuous faith. This is regrettable and shouldn't be the case and we must do better at helping those who have doubts in our churches if we hope to change the trajectory of the Christian church in America. Thankfully, we now have a doubters' roadmap to help navigate the minefield of life's questions! If you are involved in church leadership this is a call to arms to better equip yourself to help the flock you oversee. If you are an individual who is either currently struggling or has ever struggled with doubts pertaining to your faith and Christian walk, this is a timely must read to encourage and equip you on going through any season of doubt with your faith intact. We can either doubt toward faith or doubt toward unbelief. Read this book to gain strategies on coming out victorious and doubting toward faith!

A must read for believers, unbelievers, and seekers alike By Eugene Rossi If you're looking for simply another handbook of Bible answers for the gritty world of debates and apologetics, you might be disappointed. But if you're seeking a down to earth, heart felt presentation that encourages the reader and addresses some of life's most troublesome questions, look no further! And while it wasn't overly lengthy at only about 200 pages, I found myself stopping every few pages to digest the deep truths and advice in each chapter. This book is definitely unique and offers a fresh new style in the field of apologetics. The one minute apologist has done it again!

It is jam packed with action and moves the story along well.At the outset a American spy is killed without delivering the microfilm that cost him his life. We wonder if this means the Nazis will have a stable supply of power from a hydrogen based fuel.Bauer knows that Meeker survived the plane crash but is hesitant to kill her. He desperately needs to know what her assignment is.Meanwhile, Meeker convinces her superiors that she needs to go behind enemy lines. She actually ends up in the same room with Hitler and Himmler. But her plans go wrong and disaster strikes, leaving a death in its wake.Bauer is intent on finding the Fountain of Youth and thinks he has a lead. His desire for the promised rejuvenation takes him to New Orleans. Meeker ends up there too and when disaster strikes again, we are left waiting for the next episode.I love this series. The dialog is snappy and full of wit. The characters are well crafted and, in this episode, the action is intense and continuous. This episode clearly reflects the price special agents have to pay to keep our country safe. By L Charles Arnold Jr This is a good basic and easy t read study of God's use of events and people throughout history as recorded in the Bible and how they relate to Jesus the Christ. The main focus deals with the first 5 books of the Bible. The rest of the book is an overview of select portions of the Old and New Testament as they relate to Jesus the Christ. The insight and research that was done by John makes this a good subject for both adult and teenage bible studies. I strongly recommend this book to all who are interested in an insightful comparative study about God and his written historical account. The use of charts that compare and contrast their applicable subject are effective, concise and to the point. The last chapter has a unique concept as it describes the Bible as a holographic image of God. There is much more to this book that should be seen by reading it.

I wanted something that was small enough to fit in my purse but also had a sturdy cover so that it wouldn't get ripped easily. I needed a journal that I could use at church to take notes with and this works perfectly! It has a lot of pages so it should last a long time and the quality is great. It's very sturdy and doesn't get ripped or scratched up easily. The cover is very beautiful. The colors used are bright and fresh looking. The wording on the front make this perfect to take with me to church. I got this because I wanted something spiral bound and at a good price and this fit that perfectly. When taking notes, the spiral bound makes it so much easier to turn the page and write on the back. So many journal books are leather which looks nice but they're not spiral bound and therefore very difficult to use both sides of the paper while taking notes without a desk. I would definitely recommend this product and will be back to buy another once I've used each page up in this.

Ancient tale meeting up with a Grand canyon hiking experience. Well done, easy read. I think it would be especially interesting stories for young adults. Fairly short book , but held my interest.
