THE WORLD IS A FADED MEMORY The Fever took hold of Portland first. They tried to contain it. They built barriers, brought in experts, promised cures. But the day they flew in bombers and burned Portland to the ground, the rest of the world knew the truth. There was no containing it. Soon panic spreads with the Fever, consuming everyone and everything in its path. Humanity is crumbling, the dead are rising, but out of the remnants two men will emerge. Strangers. Loners. Heroes.

By Jilly Willy This start to the series takes place between Tracey's Quarantined and Survival series. For fans, this is your chance to get to better know characters we've previously been introduced to. Newcomers, here's your intro... Get to reading these books. This story takes us to the failure of the cure and collapse of the quarantine. It starts to unfold the past of our favorite apocalyptic badasses. We're introduced to Trent and Vincent (you should already know them). Trent, our awkward teenager, living off grid with his father when what's left of the world crumbles around them. He has the know-how to make it, and steps up to the plate. He has the most unique personality. Definitely one of my favorite characters. Then, there is Vin. This guy is so blunt that you have to like him. Vin has lived a majority of his life on the streets. He is more than capable of handling himself. With the world around him ending, he decides he will seize the opportunity to rise to the top. He's patient and methodical while maintaining his don't give a f*** attitude. We're reintroduced to Marlow, the gangster giving everyone a hard time (putting it mildly). And Ryan, our charismatic, kick ass good guy. Finally getting to meet Kevin, and see his role in shaping these other young men into their later roles. We even get glimpses of Crenshaw and Joss. As expected, this book has a little romance, some good laughs and lots of action. Guarantee you'll be flipping the pages. What will happen next? What will they do after the fall of society, where danger is around every corner? How will these young men rise to become Gods of the Dead?

By JGud Absolutely fantastic book based in the same world as Ward's Quarantine and Survival series, though you can read this without having read the others. (But why would you miss out on those like a crazy person? go! GO GET THEM) Ward's ability to bring you right into the moment, right into the action, right into anguish is showcased in this book and I could not stop reading. It's been a while since a book made me cry, but this one did it. She deftly handles her characters, making you love and hate them, making you feel everything they feel and it is devastating. She brings you up and then brings you down, and she does all of this with a sense of humour too. I would recommend this book to anyone.

Tracey Ward really knows how to write a story that will just suck me in.It switches pov's between Trent and Vin (both of whom we met in the Survival series). I think it could be read with out reading that series first but go ahead and do it. And read the Quarantine series before that :-)We learn what was happening when the apocalypse hit them and the tough choices they made.I also found out how Vin ended up with Marlow and what his fascination with the stadium was, always wondered why it was so important. We see how Trent and Ryan ended up together with the Hyperion and what it was like when Kevin was still with them. Trent had it bad when it broke out. I felt so much for him. There's the stories for some of the situations mentioned in the Survival series. We even see when the cannibals start although its not told why.She even had scene with Crenshaw looking for his daughter at the Hive. At the end of Tearing Down the Wall I thought I knew who she was but now I'm not sure.It also had humor. Sometimes I'm not sure if a scene or the dialogue was supposed to be but I was laughing. It doesn't have a cliffhanger ending but it did leave me wanting more.I was provided an eArc by Tracey. Thanks so much!
