By Sparrow Siege When The Green Witch Tarot by Ann Moura arrived at my home, the moment I took the kit out of the box I could feel there was something really special waiting inside. That feeling only grew as I opened the box, the kit, and saw the guidebook and pack of cards themselves. It actually exceeded my expectations, and I will get into details:First I must say that these cards have a warm, homey energy that is similar to the Wildwood Tarot but instead, green witchery is the focus, and you are never lost, you are never far from home. That is the feeling that I received in each of the cards: I look into the card, and suddenly I am there in a forest or magical scene: But always waiting, right nearby is a warm, welcoming hearth. Aomiel has truly outdone herself in the way she has presented the "Fool's Journey" and every single one of the Minors: It all flows together perfectly, and the artwork is breathtaking. The cards themselves are a good size: large enough to see the details, yet not too large to shuffle. They are just slightly glossy, a little thin (I will need a second set of these in about 6 months) and they can fit into most tarot bags. They are borderless, which is an added blessing. The cards contain no nudity at all: So if you are wondering if this set would be appropriate for your young witch at home, it is!The Major Arcana are beautifully and go as follows:0 - The Green Man (for spring and new beginnings, I thought this was a great concept)1 - The Witch2 - High Priestess3 - The Earth Mother (Here, the 'empress' is pregnant but standing tall and strong, upon a staff in a field, it's an inspiring image).4 - The Great Horned God (Deep in the forest and it is a beautiful likeness)5 - The High Priest (an old high priest at his work among standing stones)6 - The Lord and the Lady (God and Goddess standing in the forest together surrounded by animals, she looks towards him lovingly)7 - The Battle Wagon (in the spirit of celtic and roman-celtic war chariots)8 - The Crone (a white haired crone with a staff stands with her hand upon a lion, I love this card)9 - The Holly King (he beckons you into a warm cottage out of the snow)10 - The Wheel of the Year (hanging on a stake, the home made Wheel is a lovely card that really gets the message across)11 - The Standing Stone (the most unique portrait of justice I've ever seen and beautiful scenery)12 - The Oak King (Here you see the Great Horned God hung upside down for sacrifice..he is drawing an infinity sigil with a wand in to the ground below him)13 - Lord of Shadows (A touching card portraying Death as the dark aspect of the God, who waits compassionately and patiently for an old man's right time to transition)14 - The Sidhe (that is the image on the box cover)15 - Nature - A really good shadow card of a man deep in the forest setting a bear trap, but the bear is waiting right behind him!16 - The Wild Hunt - The Great Horned God shows his own might in this card, sweeping across the sky down upon a stone turret or tower.. Really unique portrayal17 - The Star - a fairy in a moonlit pool18 - The Moon - A solitary witch deep in the forest, watching the moonlight in a pond19 - The Sun - A cheery, warm cottage in the woods with the sun shining down, a surprising and nice card20 - Harvest - A man at a table laden with the fruits of his labors, his harvest. What one reaps, one sows21 - The World Tree - Beautiful card with the serpent at the tree roots. The minors are no less impressive, with Athames for the air 'sword' suit, Chalices for water/cups, Pentacles for earth, and Wands for fire. For the court cards, all pages are little children, knights are young men or young women, Queens are clearly older women (I like* that!) and the Kings are clearly older men.The GUIDEBOOK to Green Witchcraft Tarot was masterfully written! It is 240 pages long and begins with an introduction to Green Witchcraft as a practice and goes into the Lord and Lady, God and Goddess as they relate through the Wheel of the Year. Ann did a wonderful job of explaining the Wheel, so that even those who are new to the Craft can understand. In the guidebook, there is a black and white image of each card, with a description for the card, the Upright meaning, reversed meaning, and 'prompt words'. Also, for each card, Aomiel describes the herbs and animals that appear in each card, and what they mean: an excellent touch. At the back of the book she offers 7 tarot spreads: Witches Circle, Elemental Cross, Wheel of the Year, Mystic Pyramid, 9 card cube, Yes and No spread, and Tree of Life. Towards the beginning of the book, Ann shares her method of consecrating the cards, and ground and centering for a reading. This is a jewel of a set and I am truly delighted with it, I know I will be spending many happy hours engaged with it!

Thank the Goddess and God I had not returned them yet because the second deck came in and it had production tears, but since I had the other deck I was able to use them to replace the ones that had tears. So it took me two decks to get a nice deck! So please make sure you check every card when you get it. (Which is not saying you would not check)

My only dislike is the cards are a bit thin for my liking and I imagine are going to wear quicker than I'd like because I can see this being my go-to deck. Otherwise, I'm absolutely in love.
