Review My long-time friends, Stuart and Jill Briscoe, really know how to enjoy their Golden Years, and they do it in a way that significantly enlarges their eternal estate. While most seniors kick back, retire, and step out of ministry, the Briscoes are moving toward life's finish line with joyful exuberance and consummate purpose. And the best part is, they've sketched out a practical road map for the rest of us seniors in their remarkable new book, Improving with Age. If senior living is getting you down, this book will truly help you live onward and upward! --Joni Eareckson Tada, Joni and Friends International Disability CenterImproving with Age is a timely reminder that those of us who are growing older are desperately needed in our families, our churches and society at large. Those who are retired from their vocations must realize that God has a future for them, not just in heaven but also on earth, even as they anticipate the challenges of old age. I know of no couple more qualified to write this book than the Briscoes, who have modeled continuous service for the Lord well beyond what we generally call the retirement age. I hope many thousands read these pages and find that old age can be welcomed knowing that God has meaningful tasks for us to do. --Dr. Erwin W. Lutzer, Senior Pastor of The Moody Church, ChicagoJill and Stuart Briscoe are living giants of our time. They have gone the distance modeling for us marriage, parenting, grand-parenting and pastoring, while keeping pace with our ever-changing times. I am thrilled that they have now written these important lessons on this valuable season of life. --Mark Foreman, pastor of North Coast Calvary Chapel and author of Wholly Jesus
About the Author Stuart and Jill met each other in the context of youth ministry 60 years ago when he was a Bank Examiner and she was a school teacher. They married and based their life together on the biblical verse, 'As for me and my household we will serve the Lord.' (Joshua 24:15.) Individually and together they have written scores of books, pastored a church in the United States for thirty years, founded a media ministry called 'Telling the Truth' that broadcasts daily, worldwide and now in their eighties they continue to talk to anyone who will listen! They have three children and thirteen grandchildren.
