Pathosis is a MUST read for any fans of Post-Apocalyptic, zombie stories By Ariel Mathis for Always Love Me Some Books Blog *A complimentary ecopy was given by the author in exchange for my honest review.*I was truly in awe at this story. We get glimpses into several stories coming together to make one hell of a creepy, horrific, and definitely an entertaining read. Have you ever read a 'zombie' apocalypse story and ask yourself, "How did it start?" Well, 99.9% of the time you're left wondering and never getting a definitive answer. This, however, explains how an apocalypse could start. It's not too far fetched to think that this could be a reality. I, myself, do suffer from arachnophobia. Hate spiders, can't stand them. I will kill one if in the presence of me. I am freaked out by such creepy crawly creatures. Ughh...Pathosis is a well written horror story that will definitely have you on the edge of your seat while checking for those creepy crawlies at the same time. I really enjoyed the concept that became so much more clearer there in the end. Nature. Is nature doing this to rid the humans? Since this is Book 1, I'm assuming more of THAT will come into play. Overall, I loved this story. Creepy, horrific, and definitely a page turner. Excited to see where this series goes.

Creepy, captivating story By Rabid Reader An exciting, well thought out audiobook that captures your attention from the very start with great hooks both in the first sentence of the prolog and at the start of chapter one. Once you are hooked it is difficult to put the book down, as the story captures your imagination and scares the pants right off you. The occurrences in this book are not outside the realms of possibility, and I think it is that, more than the spiders, that makes this book so creepy. If you are afraid of spiders though, this book defiantly won't help you overcome that fear. They are big, nasty and aggressive but they are really only the lead into a more complex story that illustrates just how fragile human kind is and how nature really has the controlling hand. The narrator did a great job, the characters were well defined and she managed to convey the emotion, tension and horror contained within the book. It is a creepy, captivating story that, once you start, you won't be able to put down. I received this audiobook from the author in exchange for an honest review
2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. LaVelle injects you with fear! By jbritt Third read by this author and I thoroughly look forward to the next! I was truly hoping for a story about hot Asian strippers coming out of clown costumes in south florida, then realized I was in for a very different ride! The action and backstory transitions left me enough breathing room to try and get some work done while I guiltily read from my cell phone any chance I had at my desk. I recommend! Great work LaVelle, keep writing like a boss.
