The briefcase, AKA the football, containing the go codes for the U.S. nuclear arsenal is carried by military aides who always accompany the President and Vice-President. In a strike on Washington, a terrorist group known as “Black Bear” gets away with the prize, killing many secret service agents and almost killing Captain Paul Decker: the officer charged with protecting the football. Black Bear breaks the encryption code, and opens a “trap door” into the nation’s ICBM network…and is auctioning off targeted missile strikes. Many countries, both friend and foe, along with a dozen terrorist organizations, want what Black Bear has. And it’s all for sale! Paul Decker assembles his own team to go after the perpetrators. But he finds that everyone, including his hand-chosen people, has their own agenda.

Paul Decker raced around the world By Blake Pagliaro After reading THE PATRIOT BETRAYAL,I couldn't wait for this author's second book. I was not disappointed. Paul Decker raced around the world, one step behind "Black Bear", a group of mercenaries intent on deploying America's nuclear arsenal for their own purposes.Believable,intricate,worrisome.It felt all too real.I can't wait for the third book.

The pacing is fast and there are more than a few surprises in this espionage thriller. Paul Decker is a fun character and I'm looking forward to reading what he (and his team) go up against in his next book.

Complex, Fast-Paced Tale Of Nuclear Power And International Greed By Dawn Dolly Webb Imagine a terrorist group that has been able to steal America's nuclear power. How? They've stole the 'go codes', which are essentially the codes that will launch nuclear missile strikes from the US nuclear arsenol anywhere in the world. In this book, that scenario happens. The man in charge of the go codes is named Paul Decker. The terrorist group who took them is called Black Bear. And it's Paul Decker's responsibility to make sure that the US nuclear arsenal is not used by Black Bear, and the world stays safe in turn.Black Bear is more greedy than politically inspired. They want money and fame- not power. So they're auctioning off the ability for countries and organizations to call nuclear strikes on targeted areas. And many countries around the world are pulling in. They want a piece of the action, a piece of America's nuclear power and many of them are willing to give up a lot to have it. Paul Decker has to fight through both friendly nations and enemy nations, and he has to save the world in return.Within the first two chapters this book picks itself up to a pace that will have you gripping to the pages and reading along for the ride. The main character, Paul Decker, is what I'd call a modern American 'James Bond'. He's in charge of one of the most important government secrets of all time, and now that secret's been put in jeopardy. In turn, his story is a fast-paced race for the nuclear go codes. This book has a bit of everything. Drama, action, suspense, and a political voice that truly makes you think about America's nuclear power and how it could potentially affect the entire world if it got into the wrong hands. This was a brilliant read. So much more than an action novel, and yet so much more entertaining than a politically-provoked piece. It's a mixture of everything, and it'll have you turning pages until you reach the very end.
