It starts out you think a dad and wayward son are going to bond on a hunting trip only to end up the targets of a group of mutant cannibals. I can pretty much never get tired of mutant cannibals so this was right up my alley. Fast paced and too the point, yet the characters were people you could connect with, so it was a full story. Very much reminded me of Texas Chainsaw Massacre/Hills Have Eyes/Wrong Turn type stories. Fun times.

If you have a weak stomach, would not recommend it. If you can handle some gore, you will definitely enjoy it. I fought my way through the explicit details because I was intrigued by the story line. Well worth the read. No nightmares, yet! Smile.

From start to finish, this was a book that I just did not want to put down. If sleep hadn't been an important part of my daily routine, I would have likely finished this in 2 days. I love books that flow & so many times, books of this nature & content just don't do so. Well, not with Mark Allen! I don't remember a time during this read where it became flat or boring. I loved the transitioning of the main character. I don't feel comfortable enough to give this much detail without giving away the plot & everything leading up to it & coming down the other side. I'm obviously not a book critic & can't write with the flair some of them do, but as a reader, I know what it takes to keep ones interest & this book does it. I simply cannot imagine anyone who likes genuine horror not loving this book. Although not horror in it's classic sense, it is a frightening read because the author writes with a style that is so believable, you actually fear this could happen in your own home town. Read this book....you'll love it!
