By Cathryn Conroy I have been using Eric Simmons's Daily Office for three years, faithfully praying Morning Prayer and Evening Prayer every day. This book is such a gift! Mr. Simmons has done all the hard work for you by creating the daily office with the readings and psalms included, as well as selected prayers. You just turn on your Kindle. No more flipping pages and changing books, which is distracting and takes away from meaningful prayer and contemplation.I encourage all Episcopalians with a Kindle to take on this daily discipline. It has made a profound--and to be honest, unexpected--difference in my life, my outlook and my faith. It is now such an important and ingrained part of my day that I truly miss it and feel incomplete if I am unable to read one of the two services. That means I do everything I can to make time for it twice a day. And it doesn't take long at all! It's 10 to 12 minutes--precious time given to God and to renew myself.Bonus: Get "Forward Day by Day" and you have a little homily to go with the day's readings.A big THANK YOU to Eric Simmons for creating this wonderful book.

As noted by another reviewer, this kindle edition makes it easy! While visiting Europe last year, i was able to read my daily office without carrying a book--read it on my tablet Kindle app. A wonderful way to have time with God twice a day, and a much more portable and convenient format than a paper book.Before this edition it was, to quote Cranmer, "More difficult to find what was to be read than to read it when it was found." Now I can pay attention to the prayers and readings rather than to leafing through a book--or two.

I have been using this daily office for over two years now and I can't recommend it enough. The whole year's prayers available on your phone, tablet, or e-reader. Some days the prayers get repetitive and you start to question their worth and the very existence of God. Other days you will experience the near tangible presence of Jesus surrounding you in a way unimagined. In either season, this portable resource has proven life-changing.
