For the Love: Fighting for Grace in a World of Impossible Standards by Jen Hatmaker is a self-help book about women’s pursuit of perfection.

In the modern world, most women have the opportunity to do and be whatever they set their minds to. If a woman wants to be a chief executive officer (CEO), she can be a CEO. If a woman wants to be a stay-at-home mom, she can be a stay-at-home mom. However, this land of opportunity has also given rise to the idea that women can have it all, be it all, and be successful in every aspect of their lives, all by themselves. Unfortunately, this is not possible, but that has not stopped women from running themselves ragged in the pursuit of perfection. In order to live a fulfilled and happy life, women need to come to terms with the fact that society’s standards are impossible to meet, and then figure out what they truly want to do, while finding ways to delegate the rest…

At least according to Jesus, back when he was drawing in the sand, asking for whoever didn't have sin to cast the first stone. And thinking about that story: it was a bunch of men trying to find fault with a woman.Jen Hatmaker shows that God's grace still abounds today. Instaread cuts to the chase: you aren't perfect; God loves you. For those wondering, this summary gives a brief overview of Hatmaker's book with special focus on today's woman: from CEO to mom, and oftentimes both. They follow-up from the summary with a bulleted list of the key takeaways, then they go into several pages of detail about each takeaway.Whether you already read the book and want reminders, or are thinking of reading the book and want to know what it's about, or want to skip the book and know the book's key points, Instaread nails it.

INSTAREAD PROVIDES A VALUABLE SERVICE By Robert Steven Thomas This is an overview of the actual book “For the Love.“ Kind of like an abbreviated Cliff's Notes for the full book. It provides a potential reader enough information regarding this book’s content to determine if we want to invest the extra money and time to actually buy and read the entire book. As an avid reader I have personally found “Instaread” to be a very helpful and valuable service.

It ain't worth it! ~~ By Richard and Liz The original book by Jen Hatmaker is a self-help book for women who think they need to pursue perfection. There are nine Key Takeaways in this book all of which are important and TRUE. Here are a couple to whet your appetite:>>> #1 - "The idea that women can do it all, perfect it all, and have it all is a farce that destroys happiness. Women need to choose to do the thinks they love and excel at, delegate the rest and let go of the guilt that comes from thinking they have to be perfect in every area of their lives.">>> #4 - "Women need to ignore the messages that say they are not good enough, think enough, or pretty enough. The media's portrayal of women is not real and trying to attain that standard is a waste of time and effort."If you are a lady struggling with your self-image, feel that you are failing at being the perfect mother/wife then this book, yes, even this Instaread summary could well be for you. Great quote here: "When a woman allows herself to be constantly exposed to the media's ideals it is dangerous."The author is described as hilarious - "the kind who literally makes the reader laugh out loud at her stories." Jen Hatmaker is married to a pastor and although Instaread doesn't state this, it is obvious by the content that the original book is based on Christian principles. Having said that, this summary has a lot of common sense ideas for women from all walks of life and is not preachy. Please note that my review is based on this Instaread book/review and NOT the original book. Book provided in exchange for an honest review. Thanks, Liz
