***Formerly PYRAMID OF COINS***Tragedy and death are the latest obstacles that stand in the way of William Barrow (aka Judas Iscariot) staying true to the burden upon his heart: His mission to reclaim the thirty blood coins that were his payment for betraying Jesus Christ.William and his companions return to the United States, where they must find a new secure home. Alistair's suggestion of New Orleans appears to be the right choice... until an old nemesis comes to town.Ratibor... the bloodthirsty killer who once slaughtered prostitutes for food under the name 'Jack the Ripper'. Known to surface every eighty to one hundred-twenty years, the immortal serial killer usually stays in Europe. However, this time Ratibor seeks to avenge an old score with William, who as Emmanuel Ortiz interfered with Ratibor's feasting on human flesh and blood in London during the horrific Whitechapel crimes of 1888.On the heels of the last misadventure with Krontos Lazarevic, the emergence of older enemies promises to increase as William closes in on recovering his last few coins. Ratibor takes what is more precious to William than the sum total of these coins and draws him back once more to Eastern Europe, this time to the Balkans. Plagued with a heavy heart, the immortal man better known as Judas Iscariot must find a way to stop this fiend before Ratibor goes into hibernation with the assured reality of striking violently again in the distant future.Much is at stake, and for William, the painful realization thatseeking to atone for his most famous sin upon the earth's stage can't guarantee lasting happiness.Acclaim for the novels of Aiden James:"The intense writing style of Aiden James kept my eyes glued to the story and the pages seemed to fly by at warp speed. ...Twists, turns, and surprises pop up at random times to keep the reader off balance. It all blends together to create one of the best stories I have read all year."--Detra Fitch, Huntress Reviews for "The Devil's Paradise""Aiden James has written a deeply psychological, gripping tale that keeps the readers hooked from page one."--Bookfinds review for "The Forgotten Eden""Aiden James writing style flows very easily and I found that "Cades Cove" snowballed into a very gripping tale. Clearly the strengths inthe piece were as the spirit's interaction became prevalent with the family... The Indian lore and ceremonies and the flashbacks to Allie Mae's (earthly) demise were very powerful. I think those aspects separated the work from what we've seen before in horror and ghost tales."--Evelyn Klebert, author of "A Ghost of a Chance" and "Dragonflies""Aiden James has a keen eye for detail and an uncanny knack for scaring the hell out of me. We are watching a master at work. "The Raven Mocker" is a nearly perfect thriller. Ghost stories don't get any better than this."--J.R. Rain, Bestselling author of the "Vampire for Hire" series"As with the previous titles I have read by this author, I found the author's writing style to be silky smooth and the main plot line to be extremely creative. The fertile imagination of Aiden James definitely knows what today's readers want to see in their stories."--Detra Fitch, Huntress Reviews for "The Vampires' Last Lover"

By Pixie Pyramid of Coins By Aiden JamesSynopsis: If one lives long enough, they will experience more than their share of profound sorrow.... Tragedy and death are the latest obstacles that stand in the way of William Barrow (aka Judas Iscariot) staying true to the burden upon his heart: His mission to reclaim the thirty blood coins that were his payment for betraying Jesus Christ. My Review:Judas (William Barrows and yes he is THAT Judas) Is back in this next installment of The Judas Chronicles,This time He is out for revenge as we meet up with Ratibor (Jack The Ripper) again and This Vile creature does something so unthinkable that I had to set the Kindle down for a moment to catch my breath... This part of Judas' Journey is so emotional and raw the feelings jump out at you .. you feel the pain in YOUR arm when the pull of the coin screams for Judas... You feel the heartache , in ALL of them when the unthinkable happens.. and the awe in one of my favorites scenes in the book (not giving a spoiler but it involves Judas, his son Alistar, Jesus Christ and... Judas ).. The vivid detail of the area and the description of the coin.. I still get shivers.. I LOVE the characters in these books.. and Mr. James tells the story with such emotion and even humor.. I give this book 5 shekels ...LOVED IT!!!

Beginning with the first in the series The Judas Chronicles and the book Plague of Coins, Aiden James has taken us on a ride through an Immortal's life, an immortal life he never wished for and is cursed to follow until he reaches his final rest. This immortal is Judas Iscariot, travelling and living through time. Being killed and always coming back. No rest for one who has done the wicked deed. Moments of doubt led to him betraying his Lord Jesus for 30 shekels of silver. Too late he found out, this was the real deal and he can't take back his action. Judas' task, whether he wants it or not, is getting each and every one of those shekels back in his possession. Like any curse, Judas becomes the Flying Dutchman going through the ages. He was rough shod and self-centered in his eternal life, little caring for the deaths of others along the way. He's an immortal; their life is ephemeral. Like any boy growing into a man, Judas learns the value of love, loyalty, and the bonds of family with his wife Beatrice and his son Alistair with the addition of a daughter-in-law Amy Golden Eagle. All should be well except for the implacable enemies hounding him and swearing vengeance on him by death threats on every one of his clan. You've met them before: Ratibor, Viktor Kaslow, and the scary Krontos Lazarevic. What began with Plague of Coins and following with each new one has given the reader an imaginative story of the bonds of loyalty and love with enemies watching closely and striking at any time. Each book brings Judas to the final rest from his wanderings and presents the heart rending problem of leaving them behind.Pyramid of Coins really has two stories in one. Yes, it involves one more coin and this is not going to be easy to claim. The second story is the emergence of a villain he left behind at Whitechapel, the dreaded Ratibor, the real Jack the Ripper. Ratibor is seeking his "pound of death" from Judas and scurrying away to enter his hidey hole to disappear again. Judas (going under the name William Barrow) and clan must hurry to track him and end Ratibor's reign of terror forever. Looking over their shoulders are the other enemies biding their time to strike.Pyramid is an intense book. Intense in emotions. Intense in danger. Intense in the reflections when all the shekels are collected and the wanderer earns his final reward, leaving loved ones behind. A very good entry in The Judas Chronicles series and a journey that began with Plague of Coins.

I was literally cheering for William and crew to find and destroy Ratibor. As always writing so vivid you can place yourself right in the story. Excellent read, I am growing more attached to each character as the adventures continue.
