I am new to the bible journaling/illustrated faith community and this bible works perfectly! The pages are surprisingly strong enough for my very wet water color painting. I place a piece of card stock behind the page I'm working on so that the moisture doesn't seep through to the other pages. I'm so very pleased with this bible, it's very well made and will last through the generations as I plan to pass this down to my children. I look forward to buying another Crossway journaling bible once I fill this one up. This has been such a great way for me to get the word into my spirit, I'm excited for what our Poppa God will show me through this form of worship. ''

The ESV is a respected scholarly English Bible translation so I can trust the text's reliability. The exquisitely beautiful, yet practical book design makes this Bible a pleasure to illustrate. The margins are generous, and the paper is sturdy enough to hold a variety of art techniques without bleeding through. I especially like the coordinating shell that will protect my notations for many years, because I hope to leave this Bible to my grandchildren.
