This book clearly but gently explains WHY and HOW we should follow the Ten Commandments and the teachings of our Catholic faith. I like how it focuses more on what TO do vs. what NOT to do regarding morals, i.e., more inviting than chastising, yet without skimping on directness or veering from hot button subjects. The "bottom line vs. the upper limit" explanations of the Commandments sure would have been useful for the biblical good rich man who could follow the rules but couldn't go the next step to completely follow Jesus and thus lead a moral and happy life! Nice to know this book can help us! I highly recommend the complete series for everyone!!!

By Gregory Hodkgins Windshaper is an excellent blend of Fantasy, Science Fiction and Eastern Mysticism presented as an epic fantasy. It is a journey through fire and a spiritual and physical quest for the two protagonists, Qwendi and Rowan as they face challenges within their worlds and within themselves as they become involved in a sorcerer’s war for the survival of their world. The two main characters are well fleshed out individuals with foibles and failings who grow throughout the story to become heroic characters.Windshaper is a wonderful story, rich with details and told with great craftsmanship, carrying the reader forward at sometimes-breakneck speed, a real page-turner as we progress towards the inevitable climactic clash between good and evil. There are dragons and wizards, magic and demons enough to satisfy the fantasy reader. Some unexpected twists in plot and character keep us guessing what the outcome will be right up to the conclusion. More good news is that this is the first of a series of fantasy SF books.One of the delights of a great fantasy is the world that is created with characters, plants, animals as well as history, languages, customs and culture of its own. The characters need to dwell within their own world(s) and be consistent and make sense. The author does an excellent job of building an authentic universe with a complex history and fills the world with unusual, but believable humanoids, plants and animals, alien enough to enthrall us, but grounded enough to be believable.For the benefit of the reader, an appendix of characters, places and things is provided at the end of the book. The appendix is very helpful to the uninitiated when navigating through dense tapestry of the world’s flora, fauna, humanoids and demons presented in the story.

Great Book if You're Starting a Groups Ministry or Re-Thinking Your Small Groups Strategy By Benjamin McVeigh I've been a small group pastor for almost two years, and when I started in my new job, I read just about every book I could find on small groups. By Thomas Law Whereas for the past thirty or so years the front door of the church has been the worship service today we are transitioning and the front door of the church is becoming the living room. As the author points out most churches have small groups (Sunday school), but even though we have been doing them for a long time we are not doing a very good job. Today’s small groups are designed for extroverts, yet by one estimate more than 70% of the population are introverts. Is it any wonder we can’t get them to come back? In a clear and engaging way Surratt peels back the layers of the small group revolution. He highlights the problems and lays out workable solutions. About the Author Born in Saratoga Springs, New York, where she continues to reside, K.Williams embarked on a now twenty year career in writing. After a childhood, which consisted of voracious reading and hours of film watching, it was a natural progression to study and work in the arts.K attended the State University of New York at Morrisville, majoring in the Biological Sciences, and then continued with English and Historical studies at the University at Albany (home of the New York State Writer’s Institute) gaining her Bachelor’s Degree. It's light weight, it looks really nice and the font is easily readable.I have tagged multiple places in it for quick reference to verses I don't quite have memorized yet but are still important to me and so I can easily reference them when I am speaking to others.The primary bible I use to read/meditate/pray with is the ESV Study Bible by Crossway and I love that one, but a little cumbersome to carry around, so this one is perfect for a little travel companion.

The charcoal color is perfect for male or female By Joseph I primarily purchased 8 of these Bibles for some youth that are apart of the Youth Ministry at my church. I was excited to get them in because I knew the importance of the youth's remembrance of their own dedication. I am a new Amazon Prime member so I was excited to use my free two day delivery that comes with being a prime member. The price for the quality is unbeatable. The charcoal color is perfect for male or female. In the first few pages their is a dedication page to personalize the Bibles as gifts. So far I've given out 4 of them and they seem to be enjoying them. To try to continue having an unbiased view it would have been better if the Bibles were made out of leather but then again, it would have bumped the price up. The thin pages make for a thin book which is easy to handle. The print is moderately small so if you are not able to see good. Please, purchase a different Bible. If you have good eyesight, a light purse or wallet, and are looking for a cheap but quality Bible then this book is for you.

I highly recommend getting this one it’s in a category of its own: Super hilarious. I instantly fell in love with the word play, it had me laughing out loud in the middle of the night. Kudos to the author for delivering such a fun read.

The characters' name reveal a fertile and slightly twisted imagination, too. This story is very funny and sure to delight and, it's true, I may never eat strawberry sundaes again, but I will certainly be returning to Mason's work over and over again.
