Cressida , Reza, and Kelly are on a mission to find a treasure beyond compare. Thought filled characters, action, suspense, and an interesting story. Super hot sex between her and Reza and with Cress and Kelly. The mating is all three of them, M/F/M, and each alpha must claim/bite her as well. The guys have a hard time with this twist, but they both love her, and go ahead with the plan. They still need her ship back, Kelly needs to find a den for his bears and Reza must have a tiger's home also. Aboard ship they are finding the plan unacceptable, and discuss how to change their outcome. Now that Cress is the "Keeper", and the ménage is working out well, other issues aren't working out. Reza needs to be on land, Kelly needs to search for a den and save his people, and Reza's family wants to be back home. Cressida wants all the problems solved so everyone is happy. Wonderful compromises, true, deep love, and hope all around them, makes this a terrific last book. Cress is having a baby, and they are all so pleased. You will love the completed story. Never a dull moment in this fast novella series. ENJOY !!

Final book in series of 5 short books...all free if you subscribe to Kindle Unlimited. So a lot happens in this book. Throughout the series I wondered how the story would develop and if the Alphas could truly get along and if she would be happy just being and not running her own ship. All is answered and there are some surprises that I just loved! The last book by far was my favorite of them but the series as a whole is really good!!

D-Day Normandy, 1944. Twenty thousand, five hundred strong, the 12th Waffen-ss Hitler Youth Division marched into battle against Allied Forces. They were the last cream of the German youth, seventeen- and eighteen-year-old lads trained and led by a cadre of battle-hardened officers and NCOs who had survived four years of war in Europe and on the Russian front. With only a year of training, they were nevertheless ferocious fighters. At one critical point in the battle the depleted 12th ss Division fought three Canadian and three British divisions to a standstill. Eighty-five days after the landings, at the Battle of Falaise Gap, less than five hundred of the 12th Division’s front line troops remained. The rest were dead, wounded or captured. MEETING OF GENERALS is the study of a terrible war viewed from the two sides of a battlefield on which different moral and political ideologies struggled to prevail. Parallel biographies trace Generals Meyer’s and Foster’s careers – their youth, their ambitions, their sweethearts, their sorrows and personal tragedies – and show how each reflected the values of the nation that he served. In the end, both generals realize at Meyer’s War Crimes court-martial that in war there are no winners or losers – only victims.

5 of 5 people found the following review helpful. A very good parallel study By BLT In my view this is one of the best books on Kurt Meyer, the reknown Panzermeyer of the 1st ss-Pz Division "Leibstandarte Adolf Hitler", then commander of the 12th ss-Pz Div "Hitlerjugend" in 1944. No apology of the famed waffen-ss this time. Only facts, all about Kurt Meyer's life from childhood to his military career. His postings, battles, promotions etc ... and finally his trial for war crimes. In parallel the life and career of Canadian General Foster whose division confronted Panzermeyer's panzer formation in Normandy is presented. Most of the Canadian soldiers that were murdered by Meyer's division belonged to Foster's division. This explains that general Foster is presiding Panzermeyer's trial after the war. All that with the dignity befitting a true soldier. Whilst being an adversary in the field, the Canadian general's impartiality never waivers. Only one regret. The author's (son of general Foster) gripes and grudges, pertaining his father's second wife. Something I certainly could have done without and so would have .... Panzermeyer I'm sure.A good read for anyone interested in the history of these two ss divisions as well and foremost in the battle of Normandy seen here from both sides, something which is seldom witnessed. The same goes with the 3rd Canadian division.

Pastor Creflo Dollar offers ten compelling reasons why God hates religion--but loves for people to have real relationships with Christ. Religion has broken churches, fueled wars, and driven people away from the true Gospel of Jesus. WHY I HATE RELIGION is a clarion call for people to ditch religion and embrace relationship as it explores the top ten reasons why God hates religion, such as:Religion makes people try to earn their way into heaven--but Christ offers grace. Religion says God uses calamity to teach his people--but Christ comforts us.Religion blames problems on God--but Christ helps people learn from their mistakes. Religion makes prayer a powerless "form of godliness"--but Christ hears every word. WHY I HATE RELIGION offers an empowering understanding of true Christianity, one that transforms church into full, authentic, meaningful relationship with Jesus.

Thank God for Jesus and thank God for Dr. Creflo Dollar By Alice Yanes This book points out the reason so many people has either left or refuse to attend corporate church settings today. The fact that many pastors, ministers, bishops, etc. teach a mixture of grace and the law confuses people and keeps them bound in the same things Jesus gave His life to free us from. I am glad that Dr. Dollar had the courage and revelation to write such a book to help all of us truly seeking a relationship with out Lord and Savior to unlearn what church has wrongly taught us over the years. I would recommend this book for every serious Christ-ian!

By Bubbles At first the title could be a turn off, however as you read, you note that each of the points discussed is really very true of the average church. We may not recognize how much we have strayed from the Bible until we consider each of Dr. Dollar's reasons.

A deadly intercontinental treasure hunt laced with secrets, deceit, and murder—the prize is a fortune in Angolan diamonds, the risk is death at the hands of a pathological killer 1974-75: After the "Revolution of the Carnations," Portugal is transformed into a communist state. Capitalists are ruthlessly persecuted and the liberated Portuguese colony of Angola is thrust into one of the bloodiest civil wars in history. The fabled Angolan diamond mines are closed down, but not before a group of refugees escape with a hoard of the precious gems. Their lives promise wealth and success, but a legacy of revenge and greed will eventually find them all, with fatal consequences. 2008: A millionaire businessman drowns in the swimming pool of his mansion in Marbella; a wealthy Frenchman is killed while skiing in the Swiss Alps; and a Portuguese playboy and a prostitute are found murdered together in a seedy New York apartment. The series of seemingly unconnected deaths sets two women—Jenny Bishop, a young English widow, and Angolan-born Leticia da Costa—on a terrifying journey into the past to revisit the Portuguese revolution and the Angolan civil war. Together they begin to unlock a 30 year old mystery that promises to change their lives forever, if they survive to reveal the truth.

The Angolan Clan (African Diamonds Trilogy), by Christopher Lowery

Review I have to admit a bias for this type of facumentary, a book that mixes a good story in this case a thriller with factual information. "I put this book in the same class as Barbara Kingsolver's "La Laguna" and "The Poisonwood Bible" and Richard North Patterson's "Exile". The pulling together of the threads of the revolution of the carnations in Portugal with diamonds from Angola, to the murder of a millionaire business man in Marbella, ensures a thrilling story mixed with historical fact. Difficult to put down" - Barry Nay

About the Author Christopher Lowery is a real estate and telecoms entrepreneur and has created several successful companies around the world. He wrote The Angolan Clan after the Revolution of the Carnations forced him to flee Portugal in 1975.

I am new to this book review writing, so please excuse any inaccurate details.I was given this huge book to read by a very good friend of mine (you know who you are lol!) and I must say when I saw the size of the book and how many pages it had, I feared I would not be able to finish it but boy was I wrong. The story gripped me straight away and I often found myself reading for hours without even realising it, surely a sign of a great book. As this story contains both fact and fiction it should appeal to everyone, I even found myself being educated about the Angolan diamond mines and the Portuguese Civil war even though historical facts do not usually interest me. The story has quite a few different characters but this in no way affected my joy in reading this novel and the fact that the story was situated in different countries, made it even more interesting. Do not let the size of the book deter you from reading this as I can assure you, you will not be disappointed. Can't wait to read more of Christopher Lowery's novels.

It is about two connected stories that take place in 1970’s and the early stages of the 2000’s. The settings are in many countries, but primarily in Spain, Angola and Portugal. It is a weaving mystery of sorts but more important for me, it involved a succinct history of the Portuguese revolution that was taken over and misdirected by communist Russia and Cuba. There are murders, lots of diamond smuggling and a multitude of interesting characters. The methodology used by the author in transitioning back and forth in time was almost seamless. A reader was able to grow with the characters and feel them mature and become wiser or stupider as the case may have been. In other novels I have read this technique was used but certainly not as affectively as was pulled out in The Angolan Clan. The Portuguese Revolution known as the Carnation Revolution took place in April, 1975 and caused an extreme upheaval in not only Portugal but also in its principals colonies of Angola, Mozambique and Guinea. This story opens with the future leaders of this revolution escaping from a Portuguese prison by way of a Russian submarine. Years later these same escapees are returned to Portugal by the Russian government in an effort to inject and spread communism first in Portugal and then hopefully throughout Europe. The lead characters in this novel are all successful capitalists that flee this revolution with a plan that involves the smuggling of rich Angolan diamonds in an effort for them to start their lives a new in another capitalist society. They all agree to sell these diamonds in a slow and methodical manner over a period of thirty years so as not to draw attention to them. This group becomes known as the Angolan Clan.Over the pending years, some of the Clan members die and their heirs take over the deceased members positions in the Clan. Finally the members decided to rid themselves of the remaining diamond booty and in doing so, the story picks up momentum and intrigue throughout the every end. This was a fascinating tale that to me became quite believable, a quality I feel is a necessary element in any successful novel. As I previously mentioned, this was a long read but my attention was held all the way through. I am sure if I were to read it a second and third time, I would mist definitely see and understand elements that I may have missed or even forgotten during my initial first pass. I would highly recommend this to anyone who looks for a sense of history and believability in a novel.I would rate this with 3.5 stars.

By Tricia I have recently read a number of one dimensional stories where characters have no character development and remain merely names throughout the book. The Angolan Clan is completely different; there are many stories interwoven into a truly exciting tale, with well- crafted disparate characters that have to respond to rapidly changing real-life circumstances, some of which has been experienced first-hand by the authorThe story begins with the communist takeover of Portugal, masterminded by the Russians in the mid 70’s to achieve an anticipated impact on the Portuguese territories in Africa. It describes the social collapse of Portugal; the resultant bloody civil war in Angola and how a group of desperate families working together plan to escape from Portugal and Angola with a hoard of diamonds. These separate escapes have mixed results that sow the seeds of future intrigue and murder 30 years later. This is a story with many surprises as it unfolds through the interaction of past and present events in many contrasting international locations. The Angolan Clan is a great read and highly recommended.

Attributes of God and the working of the Holy Spirit in one's life By Valerie Caraotta This book is a reprint of chapters 5 and 6 of the book, God,Please Rewire My MADFATS-How To Change Your Life. In essence, it tells of how the Holy Spirit and God can restore and transform your life. The book is about learning how to allow God to rewire your motives, affections, desires, feelings and thoughts(MADFATS) so they shift away from self centered fear.Examples in Scripture surround the text in helping the reader better understand God's love, faith and humility. It is the freedom and joy one will gain, while living out His design for your life. Though the authors stated the benefits of the Holy Spirit and God's working in one's life, I felt it lacked somewhat in conveying the responsibility and commitment it takes to bear the fruit of righteous living. There are no quick fixes and the process rather than the results is what forges Godliness. This can be read in one or two settings and help propel the reader toward an increased appetite for God. Regardless of one struggles, it provides hope and encouragement that change is possible as you lean on God.

Historians and theologians have long recognized that at the heart of the sixteenth-century Protestant Reformation were five declarations, often referred to as the ‘solas’: sola scriptura, solus Christus, sola gratia, sola fide, and soli Deo gloria. These five statements summarize much of what the Reformation was about, and they distinguish Protestantism from other expressions of the Christian faith. Protestants place ultimate and final authority in the Scriptures, acknowledge the work of Christ alone as sufficient for redemption, recognize that salvation is by grace alone through faith alone, and seek to do all things for God’s glory.

In Faith Alone—The Doctrine of Justification renowned biblical scholar Thomas Schreiner looks at the historical and biblical roots of the doctrine of justification. He summarizes the history of the doctrine, looking at the early church and the writings of several of the Reformers. Then, he turns his attention to the Scriptures and walks readers through an examination of the key texts in the Old and New Testament. He discusses whether justification is transformative or forensic and introduces readers to some of the contemporary challenges to the Reformation teaching of sola fide, with particular attention to the new perspective on Paul.

Five hundred years after the Reformation, the doctrine of justification by faith alone still needs to be understood and proclaimed. In Faith Alone you will learn how the rallying cry of “sola fide” is rooted in the Scriptures and how to apply this sola in a fresh way in light of many contemporary challenges.

Faith Alone---The Doctrine of Justification: What the Reformers Taught...and Why It Still Matters (The Five Solas Series), by Thomas R. Schreiner

Review Schreiner’s clear explanation of justification by faith alone will do much to strengthen the faith of a new generation and its witness to this timeless truth. (Gerald Bray, research professor of divinity, Beeson Divinity School)Thomas Schreiner, one of the most clearheaded and biblically faithful New Testament scholars of our generation, has produced a compelling and careful defense of the doctrine of justification that readers will find both exegetically faithful and theologically enriching. This book will help the church in this generation to stand on solid ground. (R. Albert Mohler Jr., president of SBTS)Schreiner anchors his exposition of the key biblical themes in the history of the doctrine, and defends the Reformation view in light of the many current challenges. Comprehensive, readable, persuasive. (Douglas J. Moo, Wheaton College)I welcome this new series and its substantial engagement with the great themes of Reformation theology. (Timothy George, Beeson Divinity School)

Review Dr. Schriener has done a magnificent job of expounding the key doctrine of the Protestant Reformation, which remains as vital for us today as when Martin Luther first proclaimed it. His clear explanation of justification by faith alone will do much to strengthen the faith of a new generation and its witness to this timeless truth. -- Gerald Bray, , Research Professor of Divinity, Beeson Divinity SchoolThe doctrine by which the church stands or falls---that’s how Luther described the importance of justification by faith alone. Without the imputed righteousness of Christ received by faith alone, we are truly without hope before a holy God. Thomas Schreiner, one of the most clear-headed and biblically faithful New Testament scholars of our generation, has produced a compelling and careful defense of the doctrine of justification that readers will find both exegetically faithful and theologically enriching. This book will help the church in this generation to stand on solid ground. -- R. Albert Mohler Jr, , President of The Southern Baptist Theological SeminaryAs new ideas about justification have proliferated in recent years, the need for clear analysis of these ideas and better understanding of the traditional Reformation view has grown. Tom Schreiner’s Faith Alone accomplishes both tasks admirably. Schreiner anchors his exposition of the key biblical themes in the history of the doctrine, and defends the Reformation view in light of the many current challenges. Comprehensive, readable, persuasive. -- Douglas J. Moo, , Wessner Chair of Biblical Studies, Wheaton College; Chair, Committee on Bible TranslationThe Protestant Reformation was driven by a renewed appreciation of the singular fullness of the triune God and his unique sovereignty in all of human life. But that profound reality expressed itself with regard to many questions and in a number of forms, ranging from facets of the liturgy to soteriological tenets and back again. I’m delighted to see this new series expositing the five most influential expressions of that God-centeredness, the pivotal Solas of the Protestant Reformation. By expounding the biblical reasoning behind them, I hope these volumes will invigorate a more profoundly theological vision of our lives and callings as Christians and churches. -- Michael Allen, , Associate Professor of Systematic and Historical Theology, Reformed Theological SeminaryThe Reformation’s 500th Anniversary will be celebrated as a significant historical event. However, The Five Solas series explores the contemporary relevance of this legacy for the global church. Superb evangelical scholars have been enlisted not only to summarize the ‘solas,’ but to engage each from historical, exegetical, and constructive perspectives. These volumes demonstrate that, far from being exhausted slogans, the Reformation’s key themes need to be rediscovered for the church’s very existence and mission in the world. -- Michael Horton, , J. Gresham Machen Professor of Systematic Theology and Apologetics, Westminster Seminary CaliforniaI welcome this new series and its substantial engagement with the great themes of Reformation theology. -- Timothy George, , founding dean of Beeson Divinity School; general editor of the Reformation Commentary on ScriptureA timely project, and not simply because the 500th anniversary of the Reformation will soon be upon us. Much of ‘who we are’ is determined by “where we have come from”; at a time when even so significant a part of our past as the Reformation is, for many, little more than a name, informed, accessible treatments of its basic principles are welcome indeed. -- Stephen Westerholm, , Professor of Early Christianity, McMaster University

Hurst “We are talking about standing before God on the last day, on the day of judgment, and sola fide answers that question: How will we stand before the Holy One of Israel?”With the Pope’s recent visit to the US, the differences between Catholic and Protestant theology on a number of key issues has come to the forefront of the internet. It is occasions like this that bring to remembrance those important doctrines that divide us. Doctrines that cut to the heart of the Gospel and our understanding of God’s work in Christ in salvation.Once such doctrine is justification. The doctrine of justification was the foundational match with which Luther sparked the fire of the Reformation. “Justification by faith alone!,” was the battle cry of the Reformation. But while the Reformation may have popularized and brought to the forefront of Christian’s minds this important aspect of justification, the Reformational mantra of sola fide (justification by faith alone) was not born with Luther. It was already a part of orthodox theology because it was a part of Scripture.Sola fide is one of five Reformation slogans which form the basis for a new series of books titled The 5 Solas Series from Zondervan and is edited by Matthew Barrett. The first book in this series is Faith Alone: The Doctrine of Justification by Thomas Schreiner. In the span of just over 250 pages, Schreiner carefully unpacks the historical development of sola fide, the biblical and theological grounds for the doctrine, and the continuing contemporary challenges to the doctrine. From an historical perspective it would be easy to see the birth of sola fide within the Reformation period. But this would be wrong. The roots of the churches belief in this doctrine runs back much further – to the first century. Schreiner charts a path from the first century church fathers all the way to Edwards and Wesley. While sola fide may not have been the major focus of the church until the Reformation, it was by no means tucked away in a closet. What will be quite shocking for some readers is to see the diversity of belief, especially among those of the Reformed tradition, on the relationship between justification and faith. For example, Richard Baxter, while believing in single imputation (that there is forgiveness of sins in Christ) did not believe in the imputation whereby Christ’s righteousness is credited to the believer (76-77). Further, after surveying Edwards position on the issue, Schreiner concludes that his “writings on justification lack clarity, and hence he is interpreted in different ways.” (89)From a biblical and theological perspective, Schreiner goes to work in the second section succinctly hammering out the various aspects of sola fide. He makes a convincing cumulative case that the biblical authors clearly taught justification by faith alone. He shows the reader that justification is needed because of sin (our inability to keep the law), that it is by faith alone and not by works (though works are the fruit of true faith), that, while justification is ultimately eschatological, “the end-time declaration has been pronounced in advance by the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ,” and the “future is revealed and announced in the present.” (156)In addition to laying out the biblical and theological basis for sola fide, Schreiner takes the time to address a number of challenges to the doctrine. For one, the work of N. T. Wright on justification has forever shaped and permeated the discussion, and will so for generations to come. Schreiner ably responds to Wright’s rejection of imputed righteousness as found in texts like Romans 5:12-19 (see chap. 15). An entire chapter is spent addressing the “faith in Christ” vs. “faithfulness of Christ” controversy. While I think he overstates the significance of the issue and his defense of the “faith in Christ” reading, he fairly presents those who hold to the “faithfulness of Christ” reading.Closing out the book is a section on the contemporary challenges to sola fide. Here, Schreiner returns again to respond to some of the challenges by Roman Catholics, N. T. Wright, and others to sola fide. While he gave a defense for justification as forensic in chapter thirteen (over against the transformative view), Schreiner returns to this in chapter seventeen with a greater focus on the Roman Catholic documents. The RC church sees it as (like Augustine) an act of sanctification rather than an event and declaration about ones current position before God in Christ. In regards to Wright, Schreiner further parses out the problems with his rejection of imputed righteousness and why it is not enough to locate justification within ecclesiology but must also be tied to (and more primarily so) soteriology. Reading Schreiner list a number of things he agrees with Wright on, it further confirmed for me my thoughts towards Wright – I either really like what he says or really disagree with him; there is almost no middle ground when it comes to Wright. While recognizing that the doctrine of justification is complex, Faith Alone manages to succinctly lay out a convincing historical, biblical and theological case for justification by faith alone. This is a mid-range level book that will require thoughtful reflection. Schreiner is thoroughly biblical and his confidence in his position shines through as he does not shy away from presenting alternative views to his. This is an enjoyable book to read that will deepen your faith in sola fide. I look forward to the rest of the books in this series.I received this book for free from Zondervan for this review. I was not required to write a positive review. Faith Alone By Dr. David Steele Faith Alone by Thomas Schreiner is much-needed treatment of the doctrine which was rediscovered during the days of the Protestant Reformation, namely, justification by faith alone. The author makes it plain from the beginning that he does not intend to offer a comprehensive treatment of this doctrine. Rather, he guides readers through a tour of the doctrine of justification. The contours of this fascinating tour are informed by history, theology, and biblical/exegetical arguments.Dr. Schreiner is unique among theologians as he fairly represents opposing positions and graciously refutes them. His stance toward Rome, in particular, is refreshing and sure to pose a challenge to Roman Catholic thought.Despite the gracious intent of the author, his arguments are robust and biblical. His allegiance to the Sola Scriptura principle is evident throughout and his love for the doctrine of justification by faith alone is clear.I commend this work highly and expect it shall receive a wide reading.www.baldreformer.wordpress.com

Great overview on justification by faith alone By Jason Kanz Faith Alone: The Doctrine of Justification (2015, Zondervan) by Thomas Schreiner is an informative, readable introduction to sola fide, the doctrine of justification by faith alone. In the opening section, Schreiner explores the history of sola fide. He establishes the importance of the doctrine not with the reformers, but with the early church fathers, 1500 years prior. After a brief sketch of this earlier history, he spends a considerable amount of time on the reformers. He dedicated a chapter each to Luther and Calvin before exploring the Council of Trent, later reformers, Jonathan Edwards and John Wesley. This overview led to some surprises particularly in regards to Richard Baxter and John Wesley. In the second section, he moved in earnest into exploring the theology of sola fide including human sin, faith alone, God's saving righteousness. Chapter 9 which deals with the interpretation of the phrase pistis Iesou Christou and whether it should be interpreted "faith of Jesus Christ" versus "faith in Jesus Christ", was interesting and important. He later concluded section two with traditional topics such as imputation and the forensic implications. The final section deals with contemporary issues including the Roman Catholic Church, Francis Beckwith's departure from evangelicalism, and NT Wright's New Perspective on Paul. I was particularly interested in the chapter regarding Beckwith and Schreiner's response. On the whole, this is a great introductory text to the doctrine of faith alone. This volume has whetted my appetite for the rest of the 5 solas series.

It is a rich dystopian world of technology and magic with interesting characters and an interesting story. I can't wait for the next book in the series.
